The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed Senegal as the host nation for the 2026 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations after the decision received approval from the CAF Executive Committee, Trybal News reports.

The appointment underlines CAF’s trust in Senegal’s proven capacity to deliver major international sporting events while also recognising the country’s growing influence in the development of beach soccer on the African continent.

Senegal heads into the tournament as the dominant force in African beach soccer history, having secured a record five continental titles. The Teranga Lions are also the defending champions after successfully retaining the crown at the 2024 edition held in Egypt, where they captured a fifth consecutive title.

The 2026 competition will bring together eight of Africa’s best beach soccer nations in a battle for continental supremacy, with qualification spots for the 2027 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup also at stake.

Having previously hosted the tournament in 2021, Senegal is expected to draw on its organisational experience and strong beach soccer culture to deliver another memorable edition of the continental showpiece.
