Italian Serie A side Genoa have joined the race to sign Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare from Wolverhampton Wanderers as they step up their search for a new centre-forward ahead of the 2026/27 season, Trybal News reports.

The Rossoblù are currently assessing a number of attacking options, with Roma’s Artem Dovbyk among the players under consideration. Arokodare has now also been proposed to the club and is being evaluated as a potential addition.

The 25-year-old has attracted significant interest this summer following Wolves’ relegation from the Premier League. Fiorentina have been strongly linked with the Nigerian international, but the Viola are yet to reach an agreement with Wolves after their initial offer was rejected.

Reports suggest Fiorentina later returned with an improved proposal, believed to be a loan deal with a €22 million purchase option. However, the club’s ability to complete a deal has also been affected after using their final non-EU registration slot on another signing.

Arokodare has also been the subject of interest from Turkish giants Trabzonspor, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş. Trabzonspor reportedly submitted a proposal similar to Fiorentina’s, including a €20 million purchase option, but the striker was not convinced by a move to the Turkish Super Lig.

The Nigerian international joined Wolves from Belgian side Genk in September 2025 for a reported €26 million and remains under contract until 2029. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value stands at €20 million.

Arokodare made 38 appearances for Wolves during the 2025/26 season, scoring six goals and providing two assists. He has also earned 10 caps for Nigeria, scoring two goals for the Super Eagles.

With several clubs monitoring his situation, the coming weeks are expected to determine whether Arokodare remains at Wolves or secures a return to top-flight football elsewhere in Europe.
