Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare’s future at Wolverhampton Wanderers has taken another dramatic turn after reports of a confrontation at the club’s Compton Park training ground intensified the ongoing transfer standoff, Trybal News reports.

According to reports, the Nigerian forward refused to leave the training pitch after being instructed not to train with the first team, an incident that reportedly forced Wolves to cancel a scheduled training session.

The fallout has seen Arokodare excluded from first-team activities, with increased security reportedly introduced at the club’s training base. The 24-year-old has also been left out of Wolves’ squad for their pre-season fixture against Maidenhead United, further fueling speculation that his time at the club is nearing an end.

Arokodare joined Wolves from Belgian side Genk in a deal worth around €26 million but endured a difficult debut campaign. The Nigerian striker managed three Premier League goals in 33 appearances as the club suffered relegation to the Championship.

The forward has since expressed his desire to leave the club this summer, although negotiations have proven difficult, with Wolves reportedly seeking more than €20 million before sanctioning a transfer.

Italian side Fiorentina are believed to be among the clubs interested in signing Arokodare, while Genoa continue to monitor his situation. Turkish club Trabzonspor also made an approach, but the striker is understood to have rejected the move in favour of remaining in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

The dispute could also attract attention beyond the transfer market. FIFA’s recently updated Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players place greater emphasis on protecting footballers from being isolated or excluded from first-team activities without legitimate sporting or medical reasons.

Should any club be found to have breached those regulations, sanctions ranging from financial penalties to transfer restrictions could be imposed.

For now, Arokodare’s immediate future remains uncertain as both player and club continue to search for a resolution before the close of the summer transfer window.
