The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed plans to organise a CAF B-License refresher course and a CAF A-License coaching programme as part of efforts to strengthen coaching education in the country, Trybal News report.

The CAF B-License refresher course will take place from 20 to 24 June 2026, while the CAF A-License course will run across six modules from 2 August 2026 to 7 February 2027.

NFF Technical Director, Coach Augustine Eguavoen, said the programmes form part of the federation’s strategic plan to improve the capacity of coaches nationwide. Nigeria was recently readmitted into the CAF A-License convention after a nine-year absence.

Applicants for the CAF A-License course must be active elite-level coaches with national teams, NPFL, NNL, NWFL or NLO clubs. They must also hold a CAF B diploma, be able to read and write in English, be computer-literate, have access to a laptop or tablet, present a medical certificate confirming physical and mental fitness, and submit a CV and reference letter.

Only 25 candidates will be admitted into the CAF A-License programme after completing the pre-assessment tests and CAF B refresher course. The assessment will test applicants’ game analysis, reading and writing, presentation, and computer skills.

Nigerian coaches will pay ₦3 million for the CAF A-License course, while foreign applicants will pay $3,000. The CAF B refresher course fee for Nigerian coaches is ₦700,000.

Applications for the CAF A-License course close on Sunday, 31 May 2026, while the CAF B refresher and CAF A pre-course assessments will be held virtually and in person between 1 and 23 June 2026.
