The Jamaica Football Federation has officially unveiled a 24 man squad for the 2026 Unity Cup tournament scheduled to take place in London later this month.
The squad announcement was confirmed through the federation’s official X account, with a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talents selected for the competition.
Reacting after the squad release, the federation praised the balance and quality within the team.
“Experience meets the next wave. Premier League pedigree, Championship grit, and homegrown hunger — all pulling in one direction. From the sticks to the strikers, every name on this list carries the badge.”
Jamaica national football team will begin their campaign against India national football team on May 27 in the second semi final at The Valley in Charlton. The fixture will come a day after the opening semi final between the Nigeria national football team and the Zimbabwe national football team.
The winners of both semi finals will meet in the final on May 30, while the defeated teams will compete in the third place playoff earlier that same day.
Painful memories from the previous edition will still be fresh for Jamaica after the Reggae Boyz were beaten by Nigeria in the final of the 2025 Unity Cup. A thrilling contest had ended 2-2 after regulation time before the Super Eagles secured victory through a penalty shootout.
The 2025 tournament also featured Ghana national football team and Trinidad and Tobago national football team.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle recently released separate squads for the Unity Cup and the upcoming international friendlies against Poland and Portugal in June.
Several experienced players were retained by Chelle for the Unity Cup, including captain Wilfred Ndidi, Francis Uzoho, Bruno Onyemaechi, Moses Simon, Akor Adams and Terem Moffi. Opportunities were also handed to several new faces and home based players as preparations continue for the tournament.
