Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has named his squads for Nigeria’s busy summer international programme, with the three-time African champions set to compete in the Unity Cup mini-tournament in London before facing Poland and Portugal in high-profile friendly matches in Europe, Trybal News reports.

For the Unity Cup, Chelle has selected a 27-man squad as Nigeria prepares to defend the title won last year. The tournament will take place at Charlton Athletic’s stadium, The Valley, from May 26 to 30, 2026.

Nigeria will begin their campaign against Zimbabwe on Tuesday, May 26. A victory will send the Super Eagles into the final against the winner of the second semi-final between Jamaica and India, scheduled for Wednesday, May 27 at the same venue.

The Unity Cup squad includes captain Wilfred Ndidi, Francis Uzoho, Bruno Onyemaechi, Igoh Ogbu, Moses Simon, Akor Adams and Terem Moffi, alongside several fresh faces and home-based players.

Arthur Okonkwo, Emmanuel Fernandez, Raphael Onyedika, Tochukwu Nnadi, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro and Rafiu Durosinmi are among the players included as Chelle continues to expand his options ahead of future competitive fixtures.

There is also a strong domestic presence, with Michael Atata, Elias Ochobi, Chibueze Oputa, Obinna Igboke, Aderemi Adeoye, Ayobami Junior and Tosin Oyedokun all handed opportunities to impress.

After the Unity Cup, Nigeria will continue their summer programme with friendly matches against Poland and Portugal. Chelle has named a separate 24-man squad for both fixtures, with several established stars returning to the group.

The squad for the European friendlies includes Maduka Okoye, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Zaidu Sanusi, Frank Onyeka, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu.

Nigeria will face Poland at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw on Wednesday, June 3, with kick-off scheduled for 8:45pm local time. The Super Eagles will then travel to Portugal to take on the Portuguese national team at the Estadio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria on Wednesday, June 10, also at 8:45pm local time.

The matches form part of Nigeria’s preparations ahead of future international assignments, including the race to next summer’s Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles have been drawn against Madagascar, Tanzania and Guinea-Bissau.
