Barcelona produced another attacking masterclass in the Champions League as Raphinha scored twice in a 5-1 win over Feyenoord.
The Brazilian winger continued his superb start to the season with another influential display. He now has eight goals this campaign after finding the net twice against the Dutch side.
Raphinha needed only three minutes to put Barcelona ahead. The forward produced a stunning piece of skill to beat two defenders before calmly placing the ball beyond the goalkeeper.
The goal continued an extraordinary run for the former Leeds United player. Raphinha has now scored in all five of Barcelona’s matches this season, taking his tally to seven goals across those first five games before adding another against Feyenoord.
Feyenoord, managed by former Barcelona player Giovanni van Bronckhorst, struggled to contain the hosts. Van Bronckhorst helped Barcelona win the Champions League in the 2005/2006 season during his playing career.
The visitors tried to respond and thought they had a case for a penalty in the 20th minute. Anis Hadj Moussa went down inside the Barcelona penalty area, but the referee waved away Feyenoord’s appeals.
Barcelona quickly increased their advantage. Karim Adeyemi collected the ball around 20 yards from goal and curled a superb effort into the top right corner.
The summer signing from Borussia Dortmund then celebrated in style. Adeyemi performed his trademark back flip as Barcelona moved further ahead.
Barcelona continued to create openings after the interval. Raphinha eventually added his second goal in the 57th minute after making a well timed run and firing across the goalkeeper.
That strike took Raphinha to eight goals for the season. It also marked the third time in just five games that he has scored twice.
Barcelona Maintain Their Goalscoring Form
Barcelona refused to slow down despite holding a commanding lead. Lamine Yamal added a fourth goal in the 77th minute when he converted a free kick.
However, the hosts could not protect their goal until the final whistle. Substitute Sem Steijn pulled one back for Feyenoord in the 82nd minute.
The consolation goal also extended Barcelona’s wait for a clean sheet in the Champions League. The Spanish giants have not kept a clean sheet in the competition since April 2025.
Barcelona responded by restoring their four goal advantage late in the match. Gabriel Jesus, who joined the club from Arsenal at the start of the month, headed home to score his first Barcelona goal.
The goal completed a memorable night for the Brazilian forward and took Barcelona’s total to 22 goals in their last five games.
Gabriel Jesus had arrived with plenty to prove after leaving Arsenal. He finally opened his account for his new club in a match where Barcelona once again showed their attacking strength.
For Raphinha, the performance added another chapter to an outstanding individual start. His two goals against Feyenoord further underline his importance to Barcelona as they continue their Champions League campaign.
Barcelona will also take confidence from the way several attacking players contributed. Adeyemi scored, Yamal found the net from a set piece, and Gabriel Jesus opened his account.
Feyenoord managed only a consolation goal through Steijn, while Barcelona controlled the contest for long periods. The result underlined the difference in attacking quality between the two teams.
With 22 goals across five matches, Barcelona have developed a strong scoring rhythm. Their defensive record still needs attention, but their attacking form gives them plenty of encouragement as the Champions League campaign continues.
