Venezia have officially completed the signing of Nigerian striker Akor Adams from Sevilla in a club-record transfer, making him the most expensive player in the Italian club’s history, Trybal News reports.

The Super Eagles forward successfully completed his medical in Venice before putting pen to paper on a long-term deal with the newly promoted Serie A side.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Adams has signed a four-year contract worth €1.5 million per season, while Venezia will pay €17 million plus bonuses to secure his services.

A powerful centre-forward known for his aerial dominance, physical presence and eye for goal, Adams joined Sevilla from Montpellier in January 2025 and went on to score 10 goals and provide three assists in 36 appearances across all competitions last season.

Venezia head coach Giovanni Stroppa welcomed the arrival of the Nigerian international,

I confirm: he’s an important profile who will give us a big hand.”

Shortly after completing his medical with Venezia, Adams took to social media to bid an emotional farewell to Sevilla and its supporters.

I gave all for this shield and I am proud to have defended it. Thank you for your incredible support, which I will always carry with me. I wish the club and all the fans the very best for the future. I came, I saw, I conquered.”

The transfer marks another major step in Adams’ impressive European journey, having previously starred in Norway, France and Spain. Venezia will now look to the Nigerian striker to lead their attack as they prepare for life back in Serie A.
