The official Diamond League channels confirmed the 100m hurdles star among the athletes who have booked their places for the season-ending championship, scheduled for September 4 and 5 at the King Baudouin Stadium in the Belgian capital.

Amusan earned her place in the final after a series of impressive performances across the Diamond League circuit, collecting valuable points in the women’s 100m hurdles on the Road to the Final campaign.

The 29-year-old remains one of the leading figures in global sprint hurdling. Since becoming the first Nigerian athlete to win a World Athletics title and setting the world record of 12.12 seconds in Oregon in 2022, Amusan has established herself as a consistent contender at the sport’s premier events.

Her qualification for Brussels extends Nigeria’s representation at the highest level of international athletics and offers another opportunity for the former Diamond League champion to add to an already distinguished career.

The 2026 Diamond League Final will bring together the top performers from 14 qualifying meetings held across Asia, Africa, Europe and North America, with athletes competing for the prestigious Diamond Trophy and a share of the competition’s prize purse.

Brussels will host the Diamond League Final over two days for the second time, with the world’s best athletes set to battle for honours in all 32 disciplines at the landmark 50th edition of the Memorial Van Damme meeting.
