Super Falcons midfielder and forward Toni Payne has officially joined Italian giants Inter Milan Women, marking another significant chapter in the Nigerian international’s impressive European career, Trybal News reports.
The move was confirmed by FC Internazionale Milano on Friday, with Payne signing a two-year contract that will keep her at the club until June 30, 2028. The Nigerian international arrives in Milan following the end of her spell with English Women’s Super League side Everton, where she spent the last two seasons.
Inter view the versatile attacker as an important addition to their squad as they look to strengthen their challenge for domestic honours in the upcoming Serie A Femminile season.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, to Nigerian parents, Antionette Oyedupe Payne initially represented the United States at youth level before committing her international future to Nigeria. Her professional career in Europe began with Dutch giants Ajax before she established herself as one of the standout performers in Spain during a successful six-year spell with Sevilla between 2018 and 2024.
During her time with the Spanish club, Payne made 168 appearances and scored 30 goals, earning widespread recognition for her versatility, technical ability and creativity in attacking areas.
Since making her senior debut for Nigeria in 2021, Payne has become one of the Super Falcons’ most influential players, operating effectively across midfield and attack. She played a key role during Nigeria’s impressive run to the knockout stages of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, starting all four matches and showcasing the composure, creativity and intelligence that have become trademarks of her game.
The move to Inter Milan represents another major milestone in Payne’s career and offers the 30-year-old an opportunity to bring her wealth of experience from the Netherlands, Spain and England to one of Italy’s biggest clubs.
