Kelechi Iheanacho has completed a move to Turkish side Bursaspor, signing a three-year contract with the newly-promoted club ahead of their return to the Turkish Süper Lig, Trybal News reports.

The Nigerian international joins Bursaspor after another successful season in Scotland, where he helped Celtic secure the Scottish Premiership title and Scottish Cup double. Despite receiving an offer to extend his stay with the Scottish champions following the expiration of his contract, Iheanacho opted for a new challenge in Turkey.

Bursaspor had initially proposed a two-year agreement, but the 29-year-old preferred a three-year commitment as a condition for making the move to the Turkish top flight.

Iheanacho arrives with a wealth of experience gained across Europe’s top leagues. The former FIFA U-17 World Cup winner began his European career with Manchester City before enjoying a successful spell at Leicester City, where he won both the FA Cup and the Community Shield.

The Super Eagles forward later featured for Sevilla in Spain and Middlesbrough in England before moving to Scotland, adding further silverware to his collection with Celtic.

Bursaspor will hope Iheanacho’s experience and proven goalscoring pedigree can play a key role as the club begins life back in the Süper Lig.
