Nigeria’s Falconets were held to a goalless draw by China PR in their second Group B match at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Trybal News reports.

After opening their campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Spain, Nigeria produced a much-improved defensive performance against a China side that had started the tournament with an emphatic 5-0 victory over New Caledonia.

The Falconets were well organised from the start, keeping China’s attackers under control and limiting their opponents to few clear-cut chances during a closely contested first half.

Nigeria also looked to threaten on the counter and pushed forward whenever opportunities presented themselves, but neither side was able to break the deadlock before the interval.

The second half continued in a similar fashion, with both teams competing strongly in midfield and struggling to create a decisive opening.

Nigeria’s defensive discipline remained key as China searched for a breakthrough, while the Falconets continued to look for a winning goal at the other end.

Despite late efforts from both sides, the breakthrough never came, with the referee bringing the contest to an end at the Arena Sosnowiec with the score still 0-0.

The result gives Nigeria their first point of the tournament, while China remain unbeaten after two matches.

The Falconets will conclude their group-stage campaign against New Caledonia on Sunday, September 13.
