Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey reached a major career milestone on Sunday after making his 100th appearance for Fulham F.C. in their 1-1 Premier League draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. at Molineux Stadium.

The Nigerian international achieved the feat less than three years after joining Fulham from AFC Ajax in 2023, establishing himself as one of Marco Silva’s most dependable defenders. Bassey has scored four goals for the Cottagers since his arrival, including one this season, while Sunday’s game marked his 27th Premier League start of the campaign.

Alex Iwobi also returned to Fulham’s starting lineup for the first time since suffering an injury against Brentford F.C. in April.

Wolves opened the scoring in the 25th minute through youngster Mateus Mané, who finished off a swift attacking move to hand the hosts the lead. Fulham responded just before halftime after Antonee Robinson converted from the penalty spot following a foul on Timothy Castagne.

Iwobi delivered an encouraging performance on his return before making way in the 67th minute as Fulham searched for a winner.

The encounter also featured two more Nigerian stars, with Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare introduced from the bench for Wolves, while winger Samuel Chukwueze also came on as a substitute for Fulham during the second half.

Despite dominating possession for large spells, Fulham struggled to create enough clear-cut opportunities in the final third, while Wolves looked dangerous on the counterattack as both teams settled for a point apiece.

The result leaves Fulham 12th on the Premier League table with 49 points as their hopes of qualifying for European football continue to fade heading into the final stretch of the season.
