Nigeria Premier Football League side Kano Pillars have officially completed the signing of former El Kanemi Warriors captain Zayyad Musa on a two year contract ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
The experienced defensive midfielder joins Sai Masu Gida after an impressive spell with the Maiduguri based club, where he established himself as one of the league’s most consistent performers. Musa also captained El Kanemi Warriors to President Federation Cup triumphs in both 2024 and 2026, further enhancing his reputation as a leader on and off the pitch.
Confirming the transfer, Kano Pillars announced the deal in a statement shared across the club’s social media platforms.
“We got our man weeks ago… now it’s time to make it official.
Zayyad Musa is Sai Masu Gida!
The defensive midfielder has signed a two year contract with us and has already linked up with the squad as preparations for the new season continue.
Welcome to Kano Pillars, Zayyad!
We wish you every success in the famous yellow and green.”
Musa has already joined his new teammates as Kano Pillars continue preparations for the new Nigeria Premier Football League campaign under new Technical Adviser Daniel Ogunmodede.
The midfielder arrives in Kano after an outstanding 2025/2026 season with El Kanemi Warriors, where he featured in 27 league matches and accumulated 2,834 minutes of action. His consistency, leadership and defensive qualities are expected to strengthen the Sai Masu Gida midfield as the club targets a return to the summit of Nigerian football.
The signing marks another important addition to Kano Pillars rebuilding project as the four time NPFL champions continue to reinforce their squad with experienced players capable of competing for domestic honours in the new season.
