Gift Orban is closing in on a move to Turkish Super Lig newcomers Amedspor after the club reached an agreement with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim for the Nigeria international’s loan signing ahead of the 2026/27 season, Trybal News reports.
The deal includes an option to make the transfer permanent, with Amedspor set to cover the striker’s full wages during the loan spell. Orban is expected to travel to Turkey on Saturday to complete the remaining formalities, including his medical, before the move is officially announced.
The 23-year-old returns to Hoffenheim following a productive loan spell at Hellas Verona. Despite the Italian club’s relegation from Serie A, Orban enjoyed an impressive campaign, scoring seven league goals and providing three assists in 28 appearances to emerge as one of Verona’s standout attacking players.
The move continues the growing Nigerian presence in Turkish football, with Amedspor strengthening their squad ahead of their return to the Turkish top flight.
For Orban, the switch also presents an opportunity to revive his international ambitions. Regular football in the Super Lig could strengthen his case for a more prominent role in Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles squad as Nigeria prepares for upcoming international fixtures.
Once the final paperwork is completed, Orban will become one of Amedspor’s headline signings as the newly promoted side looks to establish itself in the Turkish Super Lig.
