Italian Serie A club Fiorentina have submitted an improved offer for Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare as they step up efforts to bring the Nigerian forward to Florence this summer. The proposal is understood to be a loan deal with a €22 million purchase clause, with discussions between Fiorentina and Wolverhampton Wanderers currently ongoing, Trybal News reports.

Arokodare is reportedly keen on the move and views Serie A as the ideal stage for the next chapter of his career. The 25-year-old has emerged as one of Fiorentina’s priority attacking targets as the club looks to strengthen its options ahead of the new campaign.

Wolves are prepared to allow the striker to leave and have omitted him from their pre-season preparations ahead of life in the English Championship. Fiorentina’s recruitment team, led by sporting director Fabio Paratici, have already established contacts over the player as they push to complete a deal in the coming weeks.

The Nigerian international would bring a strong physical presence and aerial threat to the Viola attack. Standing at 1.97m, Arokodare made 38 appearances for Wolves in all competitions last season, scoring six goals and providing two assists, while also continuing to establish himself as a regular member of the Super Eagles setup.
