El-Kanemi Warriors made a flying start to their 2026–27 CAF Confederation Cup campaign, beating Guinea-Bissau’s União Desportiva Internacional de Bissau (UDIB) 3-0 in the first leg of their first qualifying-round tie on Sunday, Trybal News reports.
The Maiduguri-based side turned on the style after the break at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State, scoring all three goals in a dominant second-half display.

Nnamdi Mejuobi opened the scoring in the 52nd minute before doubling El-Kanemi’s advantage just four minutes later, converting from the penalty spot.
Dayo Wahab sealed the emphatic victory in the 87th minute, leaving the Nigerian representatives with a commanding three-goal cushion ahead of the return leg.
The result puts El-Kanemi Warriors in a strong position to progress to the next round, although they will have to negotiate a potentially challenging trip to Guinea-Bissau.
The second leg will take place in Bissau on September 13, with El-Kanemi needing to protect their advantage and complete the job on the road.
