Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has begun treatment for a groin injury sustained during Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over Istanbul Başakşehir on Friday, Trybal News reports.
Galatasaray, in an official medical update released on Saturday, confirmed that strain and pain were detected in Osimhen’s right adductor muscle group following the match.

The Nigerian striker opened the scoring for the Turkish champions with a superb finish after being played through by Lucas Torreira but was forced off in the 33rd minute after picking up the injury.
The club revealed that Osimhen has already commenced treatment, while advanced examinations, including an MRI scan, are being carried out to determine the extent of the injury.
Advanced examinations, including MRI, for our players Victor Osimhen and Mario Lemina, in whom strain and pain were detected in the right adductor (groin) muscle group during yesterday’s Başakşehir FK match… and whose treatments have begun, will be completed tomorrow,” Galatasaray medical board president Dr. Yener İnce said.
The club is yet to provide a definitive recovery timeline for Osimhen, with the MRI results expected to determine how long the striker could be sidelined.
His fitness will be closely monitored as Galatasaray prepare for their UEFA Champions League campaign, while Nigeria will also be hoping for a swift recovery ahead of the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
