Super Eagles defender Emmanuel Fernandez has been named in the PFA Scotland Premiership Team of the Year following an outstanding debut season with Rangers F.C.
The 24-year-old centre-back earned the recognition after a strong campaign in which he has scored five league goals and helped Rangers keep 12 clean sheets, establishing himself as one of the club’s most consistent performers since arriving from Peterborough United last summer.
Reacting to the honour, Fernandez expressed his appreciation and reflected on his impressive first season in Scotland.
I am delighted to be included in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year and it means a lot to me, he said.
I have enjoyed my debut season with Rangers, and it has gone better than I ever dreamed it could. I would like to thank the gaffer and his coaching staff for believing and trusting in me, my teammates for all their support, as well as our amazing fans who have backed me since I joined the club.”
After a slow start, Fernandez quickly adapted to the demands of Scottish football and became a key figure under manager Danny Röhl, playing a vital role at both ends of the pitch.
His inclusion in the Team of the Year highlights a breakthrough season that continues to raise his profile for both club and country.
