Moses Usor registered an assist as LASK delivered a commanding 4-0 victory over Slovan Bratislava in the UEFA Champions League, extending the Slovakian side’s record losing streak in the competition’s main draw to 12 matches, Trybal News reports.
The Nigerian forward played an important role in LASK’s attacking display, troubling the visitors defence with his movement and shooting ability before contributing to the Austrian side’s dominant performance.
LASK started brightly at the Raiffeisen Arena, with Andres Andrade coming close to opening the scoring through a header that was brilliantly saved by Aleksander Popovic.
Usor also threatened early on, seeing an effort from a tight angle turned behind by the Slovan goalkeeper. However, the resulting corner produced the breakthrough as Kasper Jorgensen headed home an inswinging delivery to give the hosts the lead.
LASK continued to dominate, with Usor firing narrowly wide from 25 yards before Jorgensen doubled the advantage with a well-executed free-kick from just outside the penalty area.
Robert Ljubicic added a third shortly before the interval, reacting quickest to a rebound to leave Slovan facing a difficult second half.
The visitors misery continued shortly after the restart when Adeniran advanced into the penalty area and fired a left-footed effort into the top-right corner to make it 4-0.
Usor recorded three shots, two of which were on target, while completing 10 of his 13 attempted passes. He also registered 33 touches, alongside one defensive contribution and two recoveries, underlining his involvement at both ends of the pitch.
LASK remained in control for the remainder of the contest but were unable to add to their four-goal advantage.
The victory marked LASK’s second consecutive win in the Champions League and saw them score at least three goals in three successive major European matches for the first time in their history.
Meanwhile, Slovan Bratislava’s difficult European campaign continued. They remain bottom of the league-phase standings after four matches, having scored just once and conceded 17 goals.
