Nigerian forward Bamidele Yusuf opened the scoring in Ferencváros 4-1 victory over Torreense, delivering an attacking contribution in a dominant European performance at the Groupama Arena, Trybal News reports.
Bamidele Yusuf was on target as Ferencváros secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Portuguese side Torreense in the UEFA Europa League, extending their unbeaten home run to 19 matches.
The Nigerian forward broke the deadlock in the 20th minute with a powerful, low left-footed strike that found the net off the base of the post, rewarding Ferencváros after an initially competitive start to the contest.
Torreense responded through Manu Pozo’s impressive left-footed volley, but Ferencváros gradually established control before taking the lead again through Mariano Gómez’s header shortly before the hour mark. An own goal from Mohamed Ali Diadie in the 80th minute further strengthened the hosts’ position, before Krisztián Lisztes completed the scoring in the closing stages.
Yusuf’s performance was characterised by his attacking intent. He registered five shots, with two on target, demonstrating his willingness to test the opposition defence. He also completed all seven of his passes from 23 touches.
Defensively, the forward recorded three defensive contributions. However, his involvement in the physical contests proved more challenging, winning three of eight aerial duels and two of eight ground duels.
Despite the mixed outcomes in his individual duels, Yusuf’s goal proved an important contribution to Ferencváros’ victory, underlining his capacity to influence the outcome of a European fixture.
The result maintained Ferencváros’ 100 per cent record in the competition and extended their home unbeaten streak to 19 matches, comprising 15 wins and four draws.
For Yusuf, finding the net on the European stage adds another notable moment to his campaign as Ferencváros continue their pursuit of continental success.
