Nigeria’s world record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, continued her impressive run of form with a second-place finish at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Trybal News reports.

Competing against another world-class field at the iconic Hayward Field, Amusan clocked a season’s best time of 12.34 seconds to finish behind American Olympic champion Masai Russell, who won the race in 12.24 seconds. Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton completed the podium with a time of 12.41 seconds.

Amusan produced another composed performance despite facing some of the fastest hurdlers in the world, maintaining her consistency on the Wanda Diamond League circuit as she continues to build momentum ahead of the major championships later this season.

The Nigerian star has shown encouraging progress throughout the campaign, with her latest outing in Eugene providing further evidence that she is returning to peak form. Her ability to consistently challenge for podium finishes against elite opposition reinforces her status as one of the world’s leading sprint hurdlers.

Amusan’s performance in Eugene is another positive sign for Nigerian athletics as preparations intensify for the Commonwealth Games, where she is expected to be one of Team Nigeria’s brightest medal prospects.
