Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Niger Tornadoes have appointed Kabiru Suleiman Dogo as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season, Trybal News reports.
Dogo joins the Minna-based club after ending his stint with El-Kanemi Warriors, despite the Maiduguri outfit still having the President Federation Cup final against Ikorodu City to play.
His appointment comes after attracting interest from several NPFL clubs following an impressive campaign with El-Kanemi Warriors. Niger Tornadoes, Enyimba and Kwara United were all reportedly keen on securing the services of the highly-rated tactician, but Niger Tornadoes ultimately won the race for his signature.
The move represents one of the first major coaching changes ahead of the new NPFL season, with Niger Tornadoes strengthening their technical bench as they look to build a competitive squad for the 2026/27 campaign.
Dogo earned widespread praise for his work at El-Kanemi Warriors, guiding the club through a strong season and into the President Federation Cup final. His departure before the showpiece fixture marks a significant change for the Maiduguri club as they prepare to face Ikorodu City.
Niger Tornadoes will now look to the experienced coach to steer the club to a successful campaign, while El-Kanemi Warriors begin the search for a replacement following the conclusion of their cup commitments.
