Terem Moffi has officially completed his move to Bundesliga side Hamburg, with the Nigeria international signing a three-year contract after successfully passing his medical examination, Trybal News reports.
The 27-year-old striker leaves OGC Nice after three-and-a-half years with the French club, bringing an end to a period that produced 24 goals in 72 appearances across all competitions.
Moffi’s transfer to Hamburg is understood to be worth €2.5 million, including €500,000 in potential bonuses, as the German club secured the Nigerian forward ahead of the new Bundesliga season.

The move represents another major chapter in Moffi’s increasingly international career. Germany becomes the seventh country in which the striker has played, following previous spells in Nigeria, England, Lithuania, Belgium, France and Portugal.
Moffi began his professional journey with Buckswood before continuing his development in Lithuania with Kauno Žalgiris and Riteriai. His performances earned him a move to Belgium, where he featured for Kortrijk before making his breakthrough in France with Lorient.
His time at Lorient established him as one of the most promising African strikers in Europe and eventually led to his move to Nice in January 2023.
After an impressive first full campaign with Nice, Moffi’s progress was interrupted by a serious knee injury that kept him out for almost a year. He returned to competitive football in March 2025 but struggled to regain his previous consistency.
The Nigerian subsequently spent the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan at Portuguese giants FC Porto. He made 15 appearances and scored twice as Porto went on to win the Portuguese league title.
Despite helping Porto to the championship, the Portuguese club opted not to activate the €8 million purchase option included in the loan agreement, sending Moffi back to Nice in the summer.
His future at the French club was ultimately short-lived, however, with Nice looking to move the striker on and Hamburg emerging as his destination.
Now, Moffi arrives in Germany with the opportunity to reset his career and establish himself in one of Europe’s major leagues. Hamburg have handed him the club’s prestigious No. 9 shirt, signalling their expectations of the Nigerian as a central figure in their attack.
The move also reunites Moffi with a fellow Nigerian international in Hamburg. He will link up with Jordan Torunarigha, adding another Super Eagles connection to the Bundesliga club.
Moffi has represented Nigeria at senior level since 2021, making 23 appearances and scoring six goals. He also captained the Super Eagles during the 2026 Unity Cup.
With his latest move, Moffi now has another opportunity to revive his goalscoring form, this time on the Bundesliga stage. For Hamburg, the signing provides an experienced international striker entering what could be an important new phase of his career.
