Nigeria National League giants Sporting Lagos and Inter Lagos will clash today in a decisive Lagos derby that could determine the winner of the 2026 NNL Super Four Championship.

The high-stakes encounter will take place at the Remo Stars Stadium, where Sporting Lagos need only a draw to seal the title after a flawless campaign so far.

Sporting Lagos Hold Advantage

Sporting Lagos currently top the Super Four standings with six points from two matches after a dominant 4-0 victory over Doma United earlier this week.

The Jeffrey Butler-led side had opened their playoff campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Ranchers Bees, with Seun Akanji emerging as one of the standout performers of the tournament.

Inter Lagos revived their title hopes with a 2-0 victory over Ranchers Bees after losing their opening game to Doma United. Midfielder Qoyum Akinpelu delivered a standout display in that win, scoring and earning the Man of the Match award.

Final Day Fixtures

Both final-day matches will kick off simultaneously at 4pm, a common practice in professional football competitions aimed at preventing match manipulation.

Matchday Fixtures

  • Sporting Lagos vs Inter Lagos
  • Doma United vs Ranchers Bees

Sporting Lagos remain favourites to lift the trophy, while Inter Lagos must win and hope other results swing in their favour. Ranchers Bees are already out of contention after suffering defeats in their opening two matches.

₦10 Million Prize and Trophy at Stake

Beyond local bragging rights, the winner of the Super Four tournament will claim the ₦10 million prize money alongside the 2026 NNL Super Four trophy.

The tournament finale is also expected to attract major personalities from Nigerian football and entertainment circles after the competition drew dignitaries including Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle and sports administrator Sunday Dare earlier in the week.

Portable to Headline Closing Ceremony

To wrap up the tournament, Nigerian Afrobeats star Portable will perform live during the closing ceremony, adding entertainment to what is expected to be an electrifying atmosphere in Ikenne.

Portable will also conduct a raffle draw where two lucky fans will win ₦500,000 each, while the first 200 spectators at the stadium gates will receive ₦5,000 each as part of the pre-match festivities.
