Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice as Bursaspor secured a 3–0 away victory over Muğlaspor in the Turkish Trendyol 1. Lig on Thursday, extending his remarkable goalscoring form, Trybal News reports.

Iheanacho opened the scoring in the 58th minute, finishing a move created by Halil Akbunar, before doubling Bursaspor’s advantage in the 79th minute, with Juergen Elitim providing the assist. Hüseyin Maldar completed the victory in the 83rd minute, with Iheanacho credited with the assist.

The Nigerian had earlier seen an effort ruled out in the 51st minute, but he responded with two legitimate goals to help Bursaspor claim an emphatic victory on the road.

Beyond the match result, Iheanacho’s latest performance extends his consecutive scoring streak to 10 matches, taking him past the nine-game runs achieved by Turkish football legends Metin Oktay and Saffet Sancaklı.

Oktay recorded his streak with Galatasaray during the 1962/63 season, while Sancaklı achieved the same feat with Kocaelispor in 1995/96. Iheanacho had also previously surpassed Bursaspor’s club record of eight consecutive scoring matches, set by Brazilian forward Fernandao during the 2014/15 campaign.

The former Leicester City and Celtic forward has rapidly established himself as a key figure at Bursaspor, delivering consistent goalscoring performances since arriving in Turkey.

His brace against Muğlaspor further underlines his impact as Bursaspor continue their campaign in the Turkish second tier.
