Abuja is bracing for an electrifying celebration of courage, talent, and inclusion as the 3rd National Para Games take centre stage from March 26 to April 3, 2026.
For nine action-packed days, more than 3,000 athletes from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory will compete in 15 sports, turning the nation’s capital into a vibrant hub of para sporting excellence. The Games promise unforgettable moments, new champions, and record-breaking performances.
Organised by the National Sports Commission, the National Para Games has evolved into the country’s premier para sports event, playing a pivotal role in talent identification, national integration, and the promotion of inclusivity in sports. Over the years, it has become a cornerstone of Nigeria’s sporting calendar, spotlighting the remarkable abilities of athletes living with disabilities while reinforcing the nation’s commitment to equal opportunities in athletics.
The 2026 edition is poised to surpass previous tournaments in scale, coordination, and competitiveness. With full participation from across the federation, the Games will showcase the rich pool of para sporting talent nationwide and provide a springboard for athletes aspiring to represent Nigeria at continental and global competitions.
In a significant development ahead of the event, the National Youth Service Corps has partnered with the National Sports Commission by making its Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja, available as the official Games Village. The facility will accommodate athletes and officials throughout the competition, offering a secure, comfortable, and community-driven environment.
The partnership reflects a shared national commitment to youth empowerment, social integration, and the continued growth of para sports in Nigeria. It also highlights strengthened collaboration among government institutions in advancing the country’s sports development agenda.
