In a statement endorsed by LSFA Chairman, Gafar Liameed, the association described the agreement as a strategic investment in the future of the tournament and the broader football ecosystem in Lagos.

Structured as a hybrid package, the deal combines financial backing with developmental support. Cloud Sports will supply 300 footballs to benefit the 79 affiliated clubs competing in the 2025/2026 Lagos FA Cup, while also organising a one-day professional training programme for the clubs’ media officers, a move expected to strengthen communication, storytelling, and overall league visibility.

Football stakeholders believe the collaboration could redefine how state-level competitions are presented in Nigeria, setting a template for improved broadcasting standards and commercial partnerships within grassroots sport.

The LSFA expressed appreciation to Cloud Sports for aligning with its long-term vision, noting that the agreement represents more than a sponsorship, it is a shared commitment to innovation, growth, and sustainable development in Lagos football.

The President’s Federation Cup is regarded as one of the oldest and most glamorous football tournaments in the country. With the Lagos FA Cup serving as the qualifying competition for the President’s Federation Cup, with the two state finalists progressing to represent Lagos on the national stage. The knockout format has consistently produced dramatic matches and unexpected results, contributing to the competition’s long standing appeal.

Cloud Sports, a sports media and broadcasting company focused on elevating sports coverage across Africa, is expected to improve the visibility and commercial value of the tournament through expanded broadcast reach and upgraded production standards.

The Lagos State Football Association, which oversees football development within the state, described the partnership as a significant step toward strengthening grassroots football and providing greater exposure for emerging talents. The association maintains responsibility for regulating and promoting football activities across Lagos, with a focus on talent development, fair competition and stakeholder engagement.

With the new broadcast deal in place, organisers expect increased interest from fans, sponsors and investors, as well as improved opportunities for players to showcase their abilities on a broader platform. Further details about the collaboration are expected to be announced in due course.
