Nigerian winger Yira Sor has completed a move from Belgian side KRC Genk to Turkish Süper Lig newcomers Amedspor, adding another attacking option to the club’s squad ahead of the new season, Trybal News reports.

The 26-year-old joins Amedspor after seeing his role at Genk diminish towards the end of his spell in Belgium, with his contract also approaching its conclusion.

Sor arrives in Turkey with a current market value of €2.5 million, according to Transfermarkt. Genk had invested €6.5 million to sign the former 36 Lion player from Slavia Prague in January 2023, making him one of the club’s major attacking acquisitions at the time.

During his spell with Genk, Sor made 78 appearances across all competitions, scoring 13 goals. In the 2025/26 Belgian Pro League campaign, he featured in 28 league matches and registered one assist, with injuries and competition for places limiting his consistency.

Before joining Genk, Sor enjoyed spells in the Czech Republic with Baník Ostrava and Slavia Prague. He scored six goals in 25 appearances for Baník before moving to Slavia, where he found the net once in 13 appearances.

The move to Amedspor gives Sor a fresh opportunity to secure regular playing time and establish himself as an important attacking player as the Turkish club prepares for its debut in the Süper Lig.

The Nigerian international, who has one senior cap for the Super Eagles, will now look to make his mark in Turkey and regain the consistency that made him a highly regarded attacking prospect during his time in the Czech Republic.
