The Nigeria Football Federation has officially unveiled the fixtures for the men’s and women’s Round of 64 matches of the 2026 President Federation Cup following the draw ceremony held on Friday at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja, Trybal News reports.
Speaking during the ceremony, NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, explained that the draw process followed the standard format used in previous editions of Nigeria’s oldest and most prestigious domestic cup competition.
Sanusi emphasized that this year’s competition would be played on a completely level playing field, with no club receiving automatic qualification or a bye into the next round. He assured participating teams, match officials, and football stakeholders that all regulations guiding the competition would be strictly enforced to guarantee fairness, transparency, and credibility throughout the tournament.
Defending champions Kwara United were seeded first during the draw, while last season’s finalists Abakaliki FC were placed at number 64. As tradition demands, all matches in the competition will be decided strictly on a knockout basis.
Sanusi also confirmed that Asaba, the capital of Delta State, will host the grand finale of this year’s President Federation Cup.
