The Wales international’s vehicle overturned on Millhouse Wood Lane in Cottingham, close to Hull’s training facilities. Images of the damaged car, which came to rest on its roof, circulated on social media and raised concerns among supporters.

Hull City subsequently confirmed that Thomas was not injured and was able to walk away from the crash without medical concerns.

The club said it was “relieved” to confirm that the 27-year-old was unharmed, adding that he emerged from the vehicle “completely unscathed.”

No further information has been released regarding how the accident occurred.

Thomas only recently joined Hull from Stoke City on transfer deadline day and has already featured twice for the Tigers. He came off the bench during Hull’s goalless draw against Aston Villa before starting their Carabao Cup tie at Sunderland on Tuesday, playing the entire match in a 1-0 defeat.

His immediate availability for Hull’s Premier League trip to Chelsea on Saturday remains unclear, with the club yet to confirm whether he will be involved.

Hull head into the Stamford Bridge fixture having made an impressive start to life back in the Premier League. The Tigers have collected seven points from their opening three matches without conceding, including victories over Manchester United and Coventry City and a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa.

Thomas condition is therefore unlikely to be a concern, but Hull’s decision on his involvement against Chelsea will be closely watched following Friday’s incident.
