Nigeria’s Flying Eagles booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 WAFU B U20 Championship after a convincing 3-0 victory over Togo, inspired by another outstanding performance from Abdulmuiz Adeleke, Trybal News reports.

After an evenly contested first half ended goalless, the defending champions returned from the break with renewed intensity as Adeleke broke the deadlock just two minutes into the second half. The forward raced onto a through ball before calmly finishing past the Togolese goalkeeper to hand Nigeria the advantage.

The goal transformed the contest, with the Flying Eagles taking complete control. Adeleke doubled Nigeria’s lead before the hour mark, displaying composure and pace to beat his marker, round the goalkeeper and slot into an empty net for his second goal of the afternoon.

Abdoulaye Agbeloye completed the rout five minutes from time, capping an impressive second-half display as Nigeria recorded back-to-back victories in the tournament.

Adeleke’s brace takes his tally to four goals in two matches, making him the championship’s leading scorer after also netting twice in Nigeria’s opening 4-2 victory over Ghana. The highly rated youngster continues to justify his growing reputation following previous trials with Chelsea and Strasbourg.

The result sends Nigeria to the top of Group A with six points and guarantees qualification for the semi-finals with a game to spare. The Flying Eagles will conclude their group-stage campaign against Burkina Faso, needing only to avoid defeat to finish as group winners.

Nigeria are chasing a place in the final, with only the two finalists earning qualification for the next edition of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations. The Flying Eagles’ dominant second-half display against Togo further underlined their credentials as one of the favourites to lift the regional title.
