Nigeria international midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is on the verge of completing a permanent transfer from Inter Milan to fellow Serie A side Monza in a deal worth €7.5 million, according to Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Trybal News reports.

The agreement between both clubs is understood to be in its final stages, with paperwork currently being completed before the transfer is officially announced. Inter will also retain a 10 percent sell-on clause, reflecting the club’s belief in the 21-year-old’s long-term potential despite sanctioning his departure.

Akinsanmiro’s future has been the subject of speculation since returning to Inter following a loan spell with Pisa last season. Although he gained valuable Serie A experience, Pisa opted against activating the €8 million purchase option included in the loan agreement after suffering relegation from the top flight.

The former Remo Stars midfielder had also been linked with clubs in the German Bundesliga during the summer transfer window, but Monza have now moved decisively to secure his signature.

Having joined Inter from Nigerian club Remo Stars in 2023, Akinsanmiro has been widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most promising young midfielders. However, breaking into Inter’s star-studded first team proved difficult, making a permanent move the most practical option for his continued development.

The switch to Monza is expected to offer the Super Eagles midfielder regular first-team opportunities as he looks to establish himself in Serie A and continue his progress ahead of the new season. With consistent playing time, the move could also strengthen his chances of becoming a more prominent figure in Nigeria’s senior national team setup.

The transfer represents another significant milestone in Akinsanmiro’s career, with Monza betting on his potential while Inter ensure they remain invested in his future through the sell-on clause.
