Lazio are working on a new contract for Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru as they look to keep him at the Serie A club for the long term, Trybal News reports.

The 25 year old has become an important member of the squad since joining from Turkish side Hatayspor in 2024. However, injury problems have disrupted his progress at times.

According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Lazio want to secure the midfielder’s future with an improved contract.

Dele-Bashiru has two years left on his current deal. Nevertheless, the Rome based club are keen to extend his stay and maintain his role in the team.

Lazio are also considering new contracts for Danish winger Gustav Isaksen and Italian midfielder Nicolò Rovella. The club hope to retain several key players as they plan for the future.

Dele-Bashiru returns ahead of Juventus clash

Dele Bashiru recently returned to action after suffering a hamstring injury on the opening day of the season against Bologna.

The Nigerian midfielder came off the bench to play 30 minutes in Lazio’s 3-1 win over Monza last weekend. His appearance marked an important step in his recovery.

Although the injury affected his early season campaign, his return gives Lazio another option in midfield as they prepare for their next fixture.

Lazio will travel to face Juventus on Sunday in their next Serie A match. The game offers Dele-Bashiru a chance to build on his return as the club continue discussions over his future.
