British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua is scheduled to return to action on July 25 when he takes on Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The fight will be broadcast live on DAZN, marking Joshua’s first outing since his emphatic knockout victory over Jake Paul late last year.

Joshua’s comeback fight will be his first since December, when he recorded a knockout win over American entertainer-turned-boxer Jake Paul. Since then, the former unified heavyweight champion has been away from competition following a tragic road accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two of his close associates. Joshua reportedly sustained minor injuries in the incident but has since returned to full training.

The 35-year-old has now entered a multi-fight agreement linked to Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Season, with plans already in place for a potential blockbuster showdown with fellow British heavyweight Tyson Fury later in the year.

However, attention will first turn to his July assignment against Prenga, an undefeated fighter known for his knockout power. The Albanian heavyweight presents a fresh but dangerous challenge as he steps up to face one of the biggest names in the division.

For Joshua, this return bout is seen as an important step in rebuilding momentum and reasserting himself at elite level, with the long-awaited Fury fight hanging in the balance as the ultimate target.
