Falconets head coach Moses Aduku has remained positive about Nigeria’s future despite his side’s elimination from the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, Trybal News reports.
Nigeria’s campaign came to an end on Sunday afternoon after a narrow 1–0 defeat to Colombia at Stadion Miejski LKS in Lodz.

Valerin Loboa delivered the decisive blow in dramatic fashion, scoring in the 92nd minute to send Colombia through to the semi-finals, where they will face DPR Korea.
Despite the disappointing exit, several Nigerian players caught the eye during the tournament. Goalkeeper Christianah Uzoma, Tosin Rafiu, Janet Akekoromowei and Ramotalahi Kareem were among those who impressed with their performances.
Aduku believes the experience gained in Poland will be valuable for the young players and is confident that the squad represents a bright future for Nigerian women’s football.
I think, first and foremost, this tournament is good for the young players,” Aduku told FIFA.
It gives them the ability to grow and reach the next level. I think, in Nigeria, we have seen the future of our players. And I think the future is very bright.”
The Falconets may have fallen short of a place in the semi-finals, but Aduku’s assessment underlines the long-term value of the tournament as the players continue their development on the international stage.
