Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi is reportedly set to undergo his medical at Hamburger SV on Saturday as the German Bundesliga side moves closer to completing his permanent transfer from OGC Nice, Trybal News reports.
The 27-year-old is expected to travel to Hamburg ahead of the medical, with the transfer now at an advanced stage following an agreement between the two clubs.
Reports from France indicate that Hamburg have reached an agreement with Nice over a deal worth an initial €2 million, with a further €500,000 available in performance-related add-ons. Personal terms are also understood to have been agreed, with Moffi expected to sign a contract running until 2029.
If the medical and final formalities are completed without complications, Moffi will become Hamburg’s new attacking option and could take on the responsibility of leading the club’s frontline.
The proposed move represents a fresh chapter for the Nigerian forward following a difficult period at Nice. Moffi joined the French club from Lorient in January 2023, initially on loan before the transfer was made permanent.
He went on to score 24 goals and provide five assists in 72 appearances across all competitions for Nice, although his relationship with the club deteriorated following an incident involving supporters in November 2025.
Moffi subsequently spent the latter part of the 2025/26 season on loan at Portuguese giants FC Porto. He made 15 appearances, scoring twice and providing one assist, while being part of the squad that won the Liga Portugal title. Porto ultimately decided against making the move permanent.
The striker had previously enjoyed an impressive spell at Lorient, where he scored 35 goals and registered six assists in 90 appearances. Earlier in his career, he also found the net 21 times in 32 appearances for Lithuanian side Riteriai before moving to Belgium, where he scored five goals in 11 matches for Kortrijk.
Moffi also impressed during Nigeria’s summer international fixtures, providing two assists against Zimbabwe before scoring in consecutive matches against Jamaica and Poland.
His move to Hamburg could therefore provide the Nigerian international with the opportunity to rebuild his confidence and rediscover the goalscoring form that made him one of the most sought-after forwards in Ligue 1.
With his medical now reportedly scheduled, Moffi’s long-awaited departure from Nice appears to be nearing its conclusion, with only the final stages of the transfer standing between the striker and a new chapter in Germany.
