Tolu Arokodare delivered a powerful response on the pitch, playing a decisive role in Wolverhampton Wanderers dramatic 2-1 victory over Liverpool FC at Molineux in the Premier League.

Introduced in the 60th minute, the Super Eagles forward injected urgency and physicality into Wolves attack at a crucial stage of the contest. With Liverpool pushing for control through Cody Gakpo, Jeremie Frimpong and Hugo Ekitiké, the hosts remained disciplined, soaking up pressure while waiting for an opportunity to strike.

That breakthrough arrived in the 78th minute and Arokodare was central to it. Chasing a long ball forward, he outmuscled Virgil van Dijk in a commanding duel before slipping a perfectly weighted pass into Rodrigo Gomes, who delicately dinked the ball over Alisson to hand Wolves a stunning lead.

Liverpool responded through Mohamed Salah, who capitalised on a misplaced pass to level the score and set up a tense finale. However, deep into stoppage time, André’s effort took a heavy deflection off Joe Gomez and found its way into the net, sealing a famous win for the hosts.

Arokodare’s overall contribution underlined his importance. In just over 30 minutes on the pitch, he recorded 23 touches, completed 11 passes with eight accurate, and consistently unsettled Liverpool’s defence with his strength and intelligent positioning.

The performance also carried emotional weight, coming days after the Nigerian forward was subjected to racist abuse. His commanding display served as a fitting response, as Wolves secured consecutive league wins for the first time since April 2025 and kept their survival hopes flickering.
