Super Eagles assistant coach and Remo Stars title winning manager Daniel Ogunmodede has written an emotional message of gratitude to the chairman of Remo Stars, Honorable Kunle Soname, thanking him for years of support and trust that helped shape his career.
Fresh from helping Nigeria finish third at AFCON 2025, Ogunmodede took to his social media platforms to appreciate the Nigerian entrepreneur and sports enthusiast, crediting him for playing a major role in his rise to becoming an assistant coach of the Super Eagles.
In his heartfelt letter, Daniel Ogunmodede wrote; “I write this letter with a full heart and deep respect to thank you for the role you have played in my life and career over the past decade.
When you gave me the opportunity to evolve over a decade ago, you did more than open a door for me. You placed your trust in a young coach who was still finding his way, and you stood by that decision even when the journey was not smooth. Your belief in me came at a time when I needed it most, and it gave me the confidence to grow into myself both as a professional and as a man.
You showed patience, you offered guidance instead of pressure and support instead of doubt. In moments when others might have walked away, you stayed. That loyalty and consistency shaped my character and taught me the value of endurance, discipline, and humility.
I am grateful for every investment you made in my growth, not just financially but emotionally and professionally. You allowed me to learn, to fail, to adjust, and to rise again. You saw the bigger picture and encouraged me to keep moving forward.
Your support as I progressed through different stages of my career, including my journey into the national team setup, meant more to me than I can properly express. Each time I received a new opportunity or responsibility, I knew I carried your confidence with me. You never stood in the way of my progress. You celebrated it and made room for it.
Sir, thank you for believing in me when I did not always believe in myself. Thank you for standing with me through the highs and the lows. Thank you for treating me not just as a coach, but as a son and a project worth nurturing.
Your influence will continue to have a lasting impact on my life and I’m grateful for the limitless opportunities.

The message comes amid ongoing speculation about Ogunmodede’s future at Remo Stars. It remains unclear whether he will resume his full duties at the club following reports that he was asked to step away from his role with the Nigeria Premier Football League champions to focus fully on national team responsibilities from December 2025. Before then, there were widespread reports of unrest between the coach and the club over several policies, including recruitment plans and the future direction of the team.
It will be recalled that on November 5, 2025, Remo Stars dismissed reports suggesting that Ogunmodede was on the verge of being sacked or resigning.
In an official statement at the time, the club described the rumours as “false and misleading,” and confirmed that Ogunmodede remained fully in charge of the technical crew.
“Coach Daniel Ogunmodede remains an integral part of our technical crew and continues to serve as the head coach of Remo Stars FC,” the statement read.
