Doma United have been fined a total of ₦5.25 million and ordered to play their next three home matches behind closed doors following security breaches and supporters’ misconduct during their NPFL 2026/27 fixture against Kun Khalifat FC on Saturday, October 17, Trybal News reports.
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) charged the Gombe-based club with failing to provide adequate security, allowing unauthorised persons into restricted areas and permitting hostile conduct towards match officials and visiting team officials.
The sanctions include a ₦3 million fine for repeated security failures, ₦1 million for supporter’s hostile conduct towards match officials and another ₦1 million for gross misconduct towards an away team official after the match.
Doma United were also ordered to pay ₦250,000 to cover the medical treatment of Kun Khalifat FC head coach Obinna Uzoho, who sustained an injury during the incident.
In a further disciplinary measure, the match commissioner has been recommended for demotion to a lower league over alleged dereliction of duty, insufficient supervision and inadequate match reporting.
The NPFL has warned Doma United to strengthen security arrangements and educate their supporters on acceptable conduct, cautioning that further violations could attract more severe sanctions.
The club has 48 hours from the date of notification to appeal the sanctions.
