New Ghana national football team head coach Carlos Queiroz has stepped up preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after embarking on a European tour to monitor and engage with key members of his squad.
The Portuguese tactician, who was officially unveiled in Accra last week, began his duties by assessing players within the domestic setup, particularly those involved with the Black Galaxies, before travelling to Europe to connect with his foreign based stars.
Since arriving in Europe, Queiroz has already held discussions with senior figures in the squad, including captain Andre Ayew and midfield anchor Thomas Partey. The meetings are part of a broader plan to build relationships within the team and clearly communicate his ideas ahead of the global tournament.
The coach is expected to continue his tour by watching matches involving Ghanaian players across various leagues, while also meeting both established internationals and emerging talents. The aim is to outline his tactical philosophy and align the squad with his vision as preparations intensify.
Queiroz is being supported by members of his backroom staff throughout the trip, ensuring a coordinated approach as they assess options and strengthen the squad ahead of the competition.
Ghana will be making their fifth appearance at the World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L, where they will face Panama, England and Croatia in what promises to be a challenging group stage.
