Ademola Lookman has expressed his delight after scoring in Atletico Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
Diego Simeone’s side made a flying start at the Metropolitano Stadium, taking the lead through Pablo Barrios in the opening minute. The midfielder finished off a pass from Alex Baena to put the hosts ahead.
Atletico maintained their pressure as the match progressed. However, Johnny Cardoso saw his goal ruled out for offside shortly before half time, keeping Manchester United in the contest.
The visitors suffered another setback in the 74th minute when Leny Yoro received a red card. As a result, United had to continue with 10 men and faced a tougher task in their attempt to recover.
Lookman came off the bench in the 71st minute, replacing Julián Álvarez. Just eight minutes later, the Nigeria international found the net with a simple finish to secure the win for Atletico.

“The guys put on a big performance before I come on, so it’s easy to come into the team and play.
