Nigeria’s women’s national team, the Super Falcons, are set to take on Cape Verde women’s national football team in an international friendly this month as part of their build-up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, TrybalNews reports.

The friendly comes after the Falcons’ recent double-header against Cameroon women’s national football team, where both teams shared wins across two matches. Those games provided a useful test for the squad as preparations continue for the continental tournament.
Nigeria will compete in Group C at the 2026 WAFCON alongside Malawi, Zambia, and Egypt, while Cape Verde, set for their first appearance, have been drawn in a separate group with Cameroon, Ghana, and Mali.
The upcoming clash is expected to give the Falcons another opportunity to fine-tune their squad, build momentum, and assess key players ahead of the competition, which will also serve as qualification for the next FIFA Women’s World Cup.
