Players and officials of Nigeria’s U20 Women’s National Team, the Falconets, have resumed camp in Abuja as preparations intensify for the final round of qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

A number of invited players arrived in camp on Monday, April 6, 2026, with full training sessions kicking off the following day. The squad has since begun intensive preparations focused on fitness, team cohesion, and tactical organization, while the technical crew continues to await the arrival of the remaining invitees.

Addressing the team during their first training session, Head Coach Moses Aduku charged the players to stay focused and fully committed to the task ahead. He stressed the importance of discipline, teamwork, and determination as the Falconets gear up to face a resilient Malawian side.

The players have shown strong optimism and readiness, with the coaching staff working diligently to ensure the team reaches peak condition ahead of the crucial fixtures.

Malawi booked their place in the final qualifying round after overcoming Guinea-Bissau in their previous tie. The Falconets will host the first leg in Nigeria on Saturday, May 2, before traveling for the return leg in Malawi a week later.

Africa will be represented by four teams at the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Poland from September 5 to 26.
