Kenyan Premier League side Tusker FC have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Victor Mbaoma from Remo Stars on a one-year contract, making him the club’s first acquisition ahead of the 2026/27 season, Trybal News reports.

The 29-year-old heads to Kenya after an impressive campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League, where his goalscoring exploits attracted interest from several clubs across East Africa. Tusker eventually won the race for the experienced forward, who is expected to add firepower to the Brewers’ frontline as they prepare for both domestic and CAF Confederation Cup football.

Mbaoma said the club’s ambitions and conversations with head coach Julien Mette convinced him to make the move.

I am really delighted to be joining Tusker FC. The coach and the management presented the club’s project to me and I was attracted to it. I looked at the history of the team and this is a winning side. The ambition to succeed locally and in continental football was a big attraction for me,” he said.

Mette welcomed the arrival of the Nigerian striker, describing him as a player whose qualities and experience will strengthen the squad.

I am glad to welcome Victor to the team as our first signing. He is an experienced player who I know very well and I am sure we will achieve great success together,” the French tactician said.

The move marks Mbaoma’s return to East Africa after a successful spell with Rwanda’s APR, where he won the league’s Golden Boot with 15 goals. The former Enyimba, Akwa United and MC Alger striker also boasts considerable continental experience, having scored 12 goals across the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

He is expected to join his new teammates in Kenya later this week as Tusker begin preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.
