The 2025/2026 season of the Lagos State League is scheduled to kick off on April 21 at designated venues across the state. Matches will take place in both the Atlantic and Mainland Conferences, covering male and female categories, with only a star fixture lined up for the opening day.
According to the League’s Chief Operating Officer, Musbau Oseni, all participating teams are expected to attend a compulsory seminar on April 10. The day will also feature the official press conference and the tournament draw.
Oseni explained that the seminar will focus on key areas including medical protocols, insurance, refereeing standards, as well as club management and social media engagement.
This season will see an expansion in participation across both categories. The male division has increased from 14 teams last season to 20 teams, which will be split into two groups of 10 in the Atlantic and Mainland Conferences.
Similarly, the female category has grown from 12 to 16 teams, with clubs divided into two groups of eight across both conferences.
In the previous season (2024/2025), Arubinjaga clinched the male title, while CATS Ladies emerged champions in the female category.
All participating teams are advised to ensure their representatives attend the April 10 seminar, as failure to do so may attract sanctions.
The league body has extended its best wishes to all teams ahead of the new season.
