Kelechi Iheanacho continued his impressive start to life at Bursaspor, registering a goal and an assist as the Turkish side secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory away to second-placed Kayserispor on Saturday, Trybal News reports.
Kayserispor took the lead shortly after the half-hour mark when Florent Hasani converted from the penalty spot, with the hosts holding on to their advantage going into the interval.
Iheanacho, however, restored parity for Bursaspor two minutes before the hour mark, confidently converting from the spot to bring his side level.
The Super Eagles striker then turned provider in the 77th minute, setting up Alperen Babacan for the winning goal as Bursaspor completed the comeback and claimed all three points on the road.
Iheanacho was substituted in the 87th minute, making way for Lewis Baker.
The 29-year-old’s latest performance further underlines his excellent beginning to the Turkish campaign. He has now recorded four goals and two assists in just four league appearances, contributing directly to six goals in his opening four matches.
Against Kayserispor, Iheanacho registered four shots, 31 touches and 19 passes, completing 17, while also contributing defensively. He won one of his four ground duels and his only aerial duel.
The victory moves Bursaspor to third place with nine points from four matches, just one point behind league leaders Mardinspor.
With four goals and two assists already to his name, Iheanacho is quickly establishing himself as one of the key attacking figures in Bursaspor’s promotion push.
