Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie delivered yet another outstanding performance, keeping her third consecutive clean sheet as Brighton & Hove Albion defeated Arsenal 2-0 to book a place in the Women’s FA Cup semifinals.
The Nigerian international has been in exceptional form in recent weeks, having also shut out Leicester City and Liverpool in Brighton’s previous outings. Against Arsenal, she once again proved her quality, producing a series of vital saves to frustrate the hosts.
Brighton started with intent and looked dangerous early on, but Arsenal gradually grew into the game, dominating possession and testing the visitors’ defence. However, Nnadozie stood firm in goal, making key interventions to ensure both sides went into the break level.
The visitors made a strong start to the second half and were rewarded almost immediately. Just three minutes after the restart, Madison Haley found the breakthrough with a composed finish to put Brighton ahead.
Arsenal reacted with multiple substitutions as they searched for a response, but Brighton remained organised and disciplined at the back, with Nnadozie continuing to command her area confidently.
Their advantage was extended in the 63rd minute when Caitlin Hayes powered home a header from a well-delivered cross, sealing a memorable victory for Brighton.
The result marks a major statement for the club, knocking out one of the competition’s strongest sides, while Nnadozie’s latest display further cements her status as one of the standout goalkeepers in the game.
