Brian Okonkwo has signed a new two-year contract with West Bromwich Albion, extending his stay at the Championship club until the summer of 2028, Trybal News reports.

The Baggies confirmed the new deal on Thursday, rewarding the 20-year-old for an impressive first full season with the club’s Under-21 side.

Okonkwo joined West Brom in September 2025 after leaving Arsenal and quickly established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for the club’s Premier League 2 team. He made 17 appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 season, helping the Young Baggies reach the latter stages of the Premier League Cup with a series of assured displays between the posts.

His performances throughout the campaign earned him a contract extension, highlighting the club’s confidence in his development and long-term potential.

Okonkwo is eligible to represent Nigeria internationally and is the younger brother of Super Eagles goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who recently made his senior debut for Nigeria. Both brothers came through Arsenal’s Hale End academy before pursuing their professional careers.

The new contract keeps Brian Okonkwo at The Hawthorns until June 2028 as he continues his development with West Brom’s academy setup ahead of the 2026/27 season.
