Akor Adams team (Sevilla) struggles in LaLiga continued on Sunday as they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Real Oviedo at the Estadio Municipal Carlos Tartiere, a result that deepens their relegation concerns.

The visitors endured a difficult afternoon, made worse when Tanguy Nianzou was sent off seven minutes before halftime, leaving Sevilla to play the remainder of the match with ten men. Despite their efforts to stay in the game, they could not recover from the setback and ultimately left empty-handed.

The defeat means Sevilla are now without a win in their last five league matches and have dropped to 17th place on the table, just above the relegation zone. The loss is a significant blow as they continue their fight to secure top-flight survival.

After the match, Akor Adams did not hide his disappointment with the outcome, stressing that the team must quickly move on from the result. “The result was a shame. It wasn’t what we had prepared with the new manager, and we have to reset and forget this result as soon as possible,” Adams said.

He also pointed out that while the officiating had moments of concern, it was not the main reason for the defeat. “We didn’t lose because of the referees, but we had several incidents went against us. For example, Djibril Sow nearly broke his leg.”

Adams put in a full shift during the game, playing the entire 90 minutes. He had two shots on target, missed a big chance, recorded 26 touches, and completed 9 of his 15 passes, but it was not enough to inspire a comeback.

Sevilla will now turn their attention to a tough upcoming fixture against Atletico Madrid, where they will be desperate to end their poor run and pick up vital points in their battle to avoid relegation.
